FERNANDO ANTONIO CONTRERAS
It’s a pleasure to introduce this natural Honduras, coming from the farmer Fernando Claros. These beans brew a juicy cup, with tasting notes of grapefruit and apricot; it’s funky, exciting, and reflects Fernando’s passion for his (secondary) trade.

It’s a pleasure to introduce this natural Honduras, coming from the farmer Fernando Claros. These beans brew a juicy cup, with tasting notes of grapefruit and apricot; it’s funky, exciting, and reflects Fernando’s passion for his (secondary) trade.
In 2006, this high school teacher inherited a farm from his grandfather, but it wasn’t until 2014 that he’d begun to grow coffee. At first, it wasn’t easy, but he sought advice, learned, and in 2018 won a local competition with one of his first harvests. Due to a limited water supply, Fernando has been mastering natural processing since the beginning. Having learned to work within those restraints, Fernando has been able to weather a rather difficult past year and is content with the overall results: through his farm, he has provided employment to people in his community, managed to harvest a greater quantity of coffee than ever before, maintain his international clientele, and has sold his own roast of his coffee greens.
Connected through the Honduran Coffee Alliance, we have the privilege to bring you our collaboration with Fernando.
