For over six decades, Finca La Bolsa has been a cornerstone for specialty coffee in Guatemala. Founded in 1958 and run by the Vides family, it has built its reputation on its commitment to quality and innovation.
Nestled in the mountains of Huehuetenango, between 1300 and 1600 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from cool temperatures, limestone-rich soils and a climate ideal for the slow ripening of the cherries. These conditions, combined with family expertise passed down through generations, result in coffees renowned for their depth and complexity.
This lot, produced by Maria Elena Vides, is processed using the Black Honey method : a large portion of the mucilage is intentionnally retained on the parchment during drying, a meticulous process that demands constant attention. The result is a rich and syrupy cup with remarkable complexity.
